Kathryn E. Lawson, 92, formerly of Brazil, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, in the Indiana Masonic Home at Franklin. She had been a resident there since March, 1996.
Born March 21, 1911, in Brazil, she was the daughter of Roy and May Brann Tipton and graduated from Staunton High School.
For 10 years she had been a bookkeeper for Riddell National Bank.
A member of Berea Christian Church, she was affiliated with Brazil Chapter 80, Order of the Eastern Star and was a past worthy matron.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John W. Lawson in 1973, two brothers, Jim and Earl Tipton, and a sister in infancy.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Jack L. and Joyce Lawson of Indianapolis and Tom E. and Terri Lawson of Hopkins, Minn; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jack L. and Marsha Lawson of Indianapolis, Melanie and Kevin Connors of San Diego, Calif., Kristina and Thomas Swanson of Los Angeles, Jennifer and Michael Murphy of Hopkins; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Lawson, Nathan Lawson, Rachel Lawson and Eve Swanson; a niece and four nephews.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Miller Memorial Chapel. Eastern Star rites will be conducted and a grandson, Jack L. Lawson, will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Summit Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
