Emma M. Carnegie, 57, of Brazil, and formerly of Rockville, died at 6:05 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute.
She was born July 23, 1946, to the late Herschel Southard and Ollie Belle Hollis. She was a 1964 graduate of Rockville High School.
She attended the Mansfield Bible Church. She was secretary-treasurer of the Parke County Dairy association Herd Improvement.
She had been employed by CBS in Terre Haute, was a payroll clerk for Zenith in Paris, Ill., and Midwest Printing in Terre Haute, and was employed by The Brazil Times and Terre Haute First National Bank. She was owner and operator of May-Win Kennels of Brazil.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest E. Carnegie, whom she married on July 8, 1985, in Terre Haute; three sisters, Pat Setty and husband John of Cloverdale, Judy Pruett and husband Charles Pruett of Rockville and Kathy Abrell and husband Rick Abrell of Terre Haute; two sisters-in-law, Anna Pemberton and husband Larry Pemberton of Bloomington and Charlotte Carnegie of Brazil; three nieces; five nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 Howard St., Rockville, with the Rev. Dale Payne officiating. Burial is in Highland Cemetery in Hillsdale. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and again before services on Friday.
