James Luther Tyler, 91, of Rockville, died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, in Heritage House of Clinton.
He was born Feb. 15, 1912, in Wolf County, Ky., to the late Robert Lee and Elize Shepherdd Tyler.
He was a retired farmer and owned Luther Tyler Sales and Service, an Oliver Farm Machinery Dealership in Bellmore.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Farrington Tyler, whom he married on Nov. 27, 1937; his daughter, Mary Anne Tyler Jones and husband Robert E. Jones of Rockville; two grandsons, Robert E. Jones II of Champaign, Ill., and Derek Jones and wife Ann Jones of Tipp City, Ohio; one brother, Melvin Tyler of Brazil; and two sisters, Callie Yeager of Connersville, Ind., and Mildred Bell of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Roseanne Jones, who died on Dec. 20, 1995.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 Howard St., Rockville, with the Rev. Jenny Charles officiating. Burial is in Memory Garden Cemetery in Rockville. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home and again before services on Friday.
