James A. Keen, Sr., 76, of Brazil died 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital, Terre Haute.
Born Sept. 27, 1927, in Old Hickory, Tenn., he was the son of Allen Keen and Era (Hunt) Keen.
He served during World War II in the U.S. Army Company "B" 388th Military Police Service Battalion. He was a member of American Legion Post 2.
On Oct. 16, 1948, he married Eva Wright Keen. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2002.
For 13 years, he worked for American Vitrified. He spent an additional 13 years working for CBS in Terre Haute.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Eva, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Keen.
He is survived by two sons, one daughter and their spouses Jim and Regina Keen of Brazil, Ron and Lori Keen of Carbon, Penny and Mark Siegelin of Archdale, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Chris, Eric and Lori Keen, Jennifer Griffin, Jeremy and Jonathan Siegelin, Shawn and Matt Keen; three great-grandchildren, Hannah and Logan Keen, Kelsey Keen; one sister, two brothers and their spouses, Evelyn and Jake Smith, Virgil and Ruth Keen, Charles and Virginia Keen; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 -- 7 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home. A Military Memorial Tribute will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Greg Comp officiating.
