Ralph E. Thomas, 75, of Greencastle, Ind., died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, in Putnam County Hospital.

Born Nov. 20, 1928, in Clinton Township, Ind., he was the son of William and Clara O. Boswell Thomas. He married Margaret Maxine Flanigan in 1953. She survives.

During the Korean War he served as a corporal in the Army.

He worked in maintenance for the Greencastle Water Co. and retired from GTE as an installer-maintainer after 35 years in 1990.

Other survivors include two daughters, Kathy Dalton and Linda S. Welker and husband, John, both of Greencastle; a son, Robert E. and wife, Karla, Thomas of Kokomo, Ind.; a brother, David A. and wife, Alberta, Thomas of Greencaslte, Ind.; a brother-in-law, Robert L. Flanigan; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Dora R. Cavaness, a half-sister, Zella Roach, and nephews, Darrel and Allen Cavaness.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Services will be in Chandler-Hays Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Patrick Smith and the Rev. Wesley McClure officiating. Interment will be in Clinton Falls Cemetery with Military Rites preceding burial.
