Bernie Headley, 69, of Ladoga, Ind., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at 2:24 p.m. at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Brick Chapel on Tuesday.
Born June 29, 1934, at Brazil, he was the son of Elijah and Bernice Brown Headley.
He married Carrie Phipps on June 12, 1955, in Spencer, Ind.
He was a retired truck driver for Schwerman Trucking, Greencastle, and had been a barber in his own shop and had worked for Jerry Baker at Bainbridge, Ind.
He attended the Haw Creek Church, Rosedale.
Survivors include his wife; a son, William, of Crawfordsville, Ind.; five daughters, Cheryl Brown of Rockville, Pam Reed of Crawfordsville, Scarlet Headley of Hallandale, Fla., Cindy Swegman of Tyler, Ala. and Lori Jones of Crawfordsville; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bernie Lee Headley; a daughter, Carla Jean Headley; and six brothers and sisters.
Cremation has been scheduled with no visitation. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville, at a later date.
