James Lee Snow, 84, of Brazil died at 6:24 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, in the Clay Health Center in Brazil.

He retired in 1984 from Conrail after working 47 years in Terre Haute and Avon, Ind.

Born Dec. 2, 1919, in Clinton, Ind., he was the son of the late Roy K. and Ethel Lou Fugate Snow.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Frances Smith Snow, whom he married on Aug. 11, 1940; a son, David L. Snow and wife, Sheryl, of Brazil; a brother, Victor Snow, of Brazil; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Gene Snow.

The 1937 graduate of Rosedale High School served in Japan during World War II in the Navy.

Memberships included Turner Community Church, Rock Run Church, Retired Railroad Association and American Legion Tony Kashson Post 290 in Rosedale.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 221 Main St., Rosedale, with the Rev. Dale Dickison officiating. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home and before services on Tuesday.
