Cora A. Edwards, 90, of Terre Haute, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at 12:50 a.m. at Southwood Healthcare Center.
She was born on March 5, 1913, in Bridgeton to Charles Caress and Cora Salisbury Caress.
She and her husband were the co-owners of Edwards Jewelers in Honey Creek Square. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist and the Mother Church in Boston.
She was a former member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and the Women's Department Club. She was a graduate of Wiley High School and loved gardening.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Modesitt and husband Wayne of Cory and Claudette Sue Longo and husband Robert of Brazil; one daughter-in-law, Champ P. Edwards; nine grandchildren, Richard W. Modesitt, Tamara Ray, Phillip Todd Modesitt, Ph.D., Penny L. Beasley, Pamela Ann Royer, Patrick J. Longo, S. Lynne Pflueger, Robin S. Roeschlein and Christine P. Edwards; 20 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles H. "Todd" Edwards; one son, Todd A. Edwards; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3 p.m. in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th St., with Cliff Simpson officiating. Entombment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. until time of service.
