Russell L. Church Sr., 66, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at his home.
Born Dec. 5, 1937, in Terre Haute, he was the son of Frank and Hazel Berkley Church.
He was a meat cutter for IGA and Pages Food Stores in Terre Haute and Brazil and worked at the Rea Park Golf Course since his retirement in 1999.
He was a Marine, 1955-1959, and was a life member of Marine Corp League, member of the American Legion Kriestenstein Post 104, Masonic Lodge 264 in Brazil and Scottish Rite of the Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eddie Church; and a sister, Wanda "Ringgold" Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanine; two sons and their wives, Russell L. Jr. and Sherry Church and Eddie and Debbie Grayless, all of Terre Haute; a daughter, Kathy Sue Church, of West Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Russell L. Church III, Bill Church, Michelle, Kim, Tiffany and Megan; great-grandchildren, Cayla and McKenzie; a sister, Martha Church, of Terre Haute; three nephews, David McMillen, Eddie Bruce Church and Kenny Church; a niece, Robin Church, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Thomas Funeral Home with burial in Bethesda Cemetery in West Terre Haute.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
VFW Post 972 will conduct graveside military services.
