Victor E. Brewer, 89, of Pike Township, Marion County, Ind., died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004.
Born Aug. 28, 1914, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Ezra and Maggie Laughlin Brewer.
He was a graduate of Bowling Green High School in 1933 and married his late wife, Mary E. Brewer, on Oct. 25, 1936, in Poland.
A farmer for many years in Pike Township, he was a charter member of the Pike Township Volunteer Fire Department, manager of the Traders Point, Ind., Farm Bureau Co-op for 23 years, retiring in 1979, member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Traders Point Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Darwin D. Brewer, of Rushville, Ind.; a son, Victor A. Brewer, of Bisby, Ariz.; a daughter, Barbara J. Speckert, of Las Vegas, Nev.; a daughter, Cindy Griffith, of Martinsville, Ind.; a sister, Margaret Seigelim, of Texas; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Flanner & Buchanan Funeral Center, Zionsville, Ind., with visitation 1-2 p.m.
Entombment will be in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, Ind., following the service.
