Kenneth Ray Dowell, 76, of Bryan, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at his residence.
He was born May 24, 1927, in Gary, Ind., to Ralph and Justine Ilas Dowell.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force as well as the state of Ohio as a Medical Supply Manager. He moved to Bryan in 1971 from Columbus, Ohio, and where he was a member of the First Baptist Church and the VFW.
He enjoyed woodworking, sports, gardening and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glen Jerry Dowell Sr.
He is survived by his wife Veleta Dowell of Bryan; two daughters, Tina Roberts and husband James, also of Bryan, and Lillie Siscoe and husband Eddie of Bristol, Okla.; two sons, Robert Kenneth Dowell of Austin, Texas, and Jimmy Pendergrass and wife Betty Jo of Moore, Okla.; two brothers, Glenn Dowell and wife Barbara of Brazil and Ralph Dowell Jr. and wife Helen of Terre Haute; two sisters Betty Easton and husband Bill of Terre Haute and Virginia Lane of Brazil; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan with the Rev. Bill Wiman officiating. Interment will follow in College Station Cemetery.
