Robert "Bob" L. Dickey, 52, of Brazil, formerly of Greencastle, Ind., died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital due to complications from cancer.
Born Sept. 12, 1951, in Greencastle, he was the son of Raymond and Nellie Long Dickey.
A graduate of Greencastle High School, he moved to Brazil nine years ago and had worked for the City of Brazil since moving here.
He served in the Army during Vietnam.
He married Vicki Larmore Dickey on March 5, 1995.
Hobbies included woodworking, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert Dickey Jr., of Texas; stepchildren, Joshua Whistler, Shannon Whistler, Laura Frost and Jamie McRoberts; a brother, Ron Dickey, of Greencastle; three sisters, Connie Freeman and husband, Sam, of West Virginia, Pam McDonald and husband, Fred, and Vickie Ash and husband, Mike, all of Greencastle; several nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, Danny Dickey; and a granddaughter, Shyan Nicole McRoberts.
Services were Sunday at 4 p.m. with Sam Freeman officiating. At his request, cremation will follow.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Riley Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
