Jane L. Pell, 74, a resident of the Cardonia community, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at 5:54 p.m. in the St. Vincent Clay Hospital emergency room.
Born in Brazil on Aug. 7, 1929, her parents were John and Gertrude Marks Morgan. She was a 1947 graduate of Van Buren High School.
She married Charles Francis "Fran" Pell on Jan 19, 1953. They owned Fashion Shoe Store in downtown Brazil and she had been a sales clerk for the adjacent ladies apparel shop, The Fashion.
Preceding her in death were her husband on July 3, 1993, and twin sisters, Harriett and Helen Morgan.
Survivors include a son, John P. Pell of Brazil; two daughters, Lorna Gradzki of North Plainfield, N.J. and Ann Russell of Freedom; eight grandchildren, Todd Britton Jr., Jacob and Heath Parksey, Harley and Andrew Russell, Abigal Allison, Charles Cannon and Thayton Koehler.
To honor her requests, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation, her cremains will be interred next to those of her husband's in the Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Ind.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent Clay Hospital, 1206 E. National Ave., Brazil, IN 47834.
