William Franklin Ream, 83, of Center Point died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at 7:30 a.m. in his home.
Born March 31, 1920, in Harrison Township, Clay County, Ind., he was the son of Albert and Nancy Florence Steiner Ream.
He moved with his parents and sister to Center Point in 1926.
Physically impaired since birth, he was of an industrious nature and worked for many residents of Center Point and the surrounding area.
He was custodian of the Center Point School for many years and also did custodial work at the Ashboro School.
He supported the Center Point United Methodist Church.
He enjoyed gardening and yard work. He also loved good music and enjoyed conversation with his family and friends.
He was devoted to his family.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Elsa Louraine in infancy, Shirley Schlegel in 1960 and Jane A. Schuster in 1965; and by his parents.
Survivors include two brothers, Donald L. Ream and Ronald K. Ream of Center Point; two nephews, William F. Schlegel of Newport, N.C., and Larry S. Schlegel and his wife, Stella, of Coal City; a niece, Rita D. Kennedy and her husband, Mike, of Richland, Wash.; two great-nephews, Christopher and Nathan Kennedy of Richland, Wash., a great-niece, Rebecca A. Truax and her children Casey and Kylee Truax of Coal City.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in French Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Lafko officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City.
Visitation will be Monday, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
