Violet Lassell, 90, of Brazil and formerly of Brownsburg, Ind., died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at Holly Hill Healthcare. She had been a resident there for 6 1/2 months.
Born July 9, 1913, to Alfred and Stella M. Sexton in Jasonville, Ind., she married Wilber Lassell on July 25, 1948. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1974.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family. She liked working in her yard and crocheting. She was an excellent seamstress.
She attended the Nazrene Church when she was able.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Julia Lucas Dove and husband, Tim, of Brazil and Lois Ann Fox and husband, Ronnie H., of Speedway, Ind.; two sons and daughters-in-law, the Rev. Ray LaSalle and wife, Jan, of Bucyrus, Ohio, and James Lassell and wife, Arlene, of Gosport; six grandchildren, Stephen Michael Lucas and Sandra Kay Zentko of Brazil, Sherry Ann Fox and husband, Jeffrey, of Greenwood, Renee and Roger LaSalle of Bucyrus, Deborah and husband, Earl Marshall, and Jeffrey Fox of Speedway; five great-grandchildren, Jay, Barry and Derek Zentko of Brazil, Jeffrey Fox II and Thomas Fox of Speedway; a great-great-grandchild, Devon Zentko of Brazil; three nephews, Gary and Reba Schopmeyer of Riding, Va., Ray and Connie Donham of Kokomo, Ind., Robert and Evelyn Donham; and infant son, Richard Roy Lassell; and a granddaughter, Dawn Shaw.
Private funeral services were held in the Chapel at West Ridge Park in Indianapolis with the Rev. Ray LaSalle officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to French Funeral Home.
