Virginia D. Beaman Manwaring, 75, of Terre Haute, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at 10:03 p.m. in Union Hospital.

She was born March 28, 1928, in Truman, Ark., to William Add Hogan and Orgie Cribbs Hogan.

She worked as a supervisor at the CBS Tape Plant and later at the Water Wheel Restaurant. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Wendell Manwaring; two daughters, Barbara Peterson and husband Jim of Knightsville and Susan Beaman of Terre Haute; three stepsons, W. Wayne Manwaring and wife Linda of Brownsburg, Ind., Vernon Manwaring and wife Charlene of Anderson, Ind., and Dale Manwaring and his wife Arlene of Terre Haute; one sister, Pauline Holmes of Terre Haute; two half-sisters, Dorothy Swift and Betty Helt both of Terre Haute; and two grandchildren, Erik Peterson of Knightsville and Gretchen Kalhust and husband Eric of West Lafayette, Ind.

Mass of Christian Burial is Saturday at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Monsignor Lawrence Moran officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation is today from 4 to 8 p.m. in Callahan Funeral Home.

The family suggests that for those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to either Catholic Charities or the Lighthouse Mission.
