Henrietta Barham, 75, formerly of Indianapolis and Gary, Ind., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Preston and Ruby Barham, Rock Island, Ill.
She was born March 8, 1928, in Brazil, the daughter of Henry and Mary Beachum Patton. After graduating from high school she attended Purdue-Calumet School of Nursing, Hammond, Ind.
In 1944 she married Louis A. Barham Sr. in Brazil; he died May 21, 1988. In 1987 she retired from St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, Ind., where she worked as an LPN for over 22 years.
She enjoyed traveling, especially to visit her grandchildren, and caring for her sick friends and family. She loved following the Indianapolis Pacers and, most of all, her dog Pepper.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; a daughter, Lynetta Moore; another son, Louis A. Barham Jr. and wife Naomi; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cottage Hill Cemetery, Brazil.
