Jane E. Flockhart, 87, of Harmony, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at 8:12 a.m. at Holly Hills Healthcare Facility. She had been a resident there for only four weeks.

She was born May 7, 1916, in Vigo County, the daughter of Charles E. Conway and Vera Larr Conway.

She graduated from Glenn High School in 1934. On Nov. 20, 1935, she married the Rev. John C. Flockhart; he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1994.

She worked as a nurse's assistant in Kendallville, Ind. She also worked at J.C. Penney and Loeb's Dry Goods in Brazil. Her life was devoted to her husband and their life together in the ministry. She was also a loving mother and grandmother.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting. She also had a collection of dolls and bears that family and friends enjoyed finding for her. She was attending the Union United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Bill Latham of Harmony and Janet and Ron Esterline of Martinsville, Ind.; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Cheryl and John Love, Gail and Doug Williams, Chris and Rita Latham, Brad Trout, Scott and Lynn Trout, David and Lana Trout and Adi and Bob Brown; 12 great-grandchildren, Matt Love, Mitch Love, Megan Love, Brant and Brooke Williams, Kendra Latham, Nick Latham, Allison Trout, Andrew Trout, Mick Sichting, Michelle Sichting, Katie Brown and Mason Brown; two great-great-grandsons, Gavin Shorter and Zaiden Williams; one brother, Jim Conway of Elyria, Ohio; one sister, Janet McNary of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jack Conway; and her husband.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with the Revs. Dennis Alstott and Brent Harden officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 to 1 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Union United Methodist Church Window Restoration Fund.
