Robert Lee Garlit, 74, of Terre Haute, formerly of Center Point, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004, at Southwood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Terre Haute.
He was born on May 17, 1929, in Clay County. He was the son of William and Flossie Gaskin Garlit, who have preceded him in death.
He attended Clay City High School and the Clay City Assembly of God Church until an illness disabled him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Garlit.
He is survived by two brothers, Roy Garlit and wife Jo, of Clay City, and Lawrence Garlit and wife Mary, of Uma, Ariz.; two sisters, Florence Harstine, of Coalmont, and Evelyn Garlit Moore of Palestine, Ill., and other extended family members.
Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City, with visitation one hour prior to services. Revs. James Palmer, Russell Lifehart, and Eugene Kent will officiate. Burial will be in Beech Cemetery.
