Sido M. Dujardin Whitbeck, 71, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness.
She was born on Feb. 14, 1933, in Mishawaka, the daughter of the late Alberic and Irene Van Neuwenhuyse Dujardin.
On June 22, 1957, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, she married Ralph Whitbeck, who survives.
She was a sales clerk for K-mart in Mishawaka for 30 years before retiring in 1997. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka; she belonged to the MHS Alumni Association and was a member of RSVP-Busy Hands.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ida Dujardin, on June 15, 1992.
Survivors include two daughters, Celeste Thomas and husband Jason of Brazil and Colette Evans and husband Timothy of Horton, Mich.; five grandchildren, Hillary, Timothy Jr. and Heather Evans and Lindsay and Joseph Thomas; two sisters, Martha Seggerman of South Bend and Augusta Carner of Mishawaka; and four brothers, Bertrand Dujardin of Waukesha, Wisc., Walter Dujardin of Elkhorn, Wisc., James Dujardin of Janesville, Wisc., and Robert Dujardin of South Bend.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. today in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Hire of Queen of Peace Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
