Charles "Bill" Meyer, 69, of Brazil, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at 5 a.m. in the emergency room of St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1934, in Clay County, the son of Alton and Elsie Pell Meyer. He graduated from Van Buren High School Class of 1952. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and then served active duty in the U.S. Army from 1956-58.
He worked at CBS in Terre Haute as a computer programmer, retiring in 1979. He was a member of the Masons F & AM and Scottish Rite, Valley of Terre Haute. He enjoyed fishing trips, mushroom hunting and spending time with family.
His wife Mariea Brown Meyer, whom he married May 6, 1961, survives him.
Also surviving are their children, Diane and Don Bradshaw, Belinda and Bill Loveall Jr., Hope and John Chubb, Sherry Britton, Pam Bowman and Robert Higgs; eight grandchildren, Haley Bradshaw, Jonathan Bradshaw, Breeanna Loveall, Carter Chubb, Spencer Chubb, Erica Spears, Michelle Hughbanks and Josh Bowman; and five great-grandchildren.
His parents preceded him in death.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at French Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Price officiating. Burial will follow at Pell Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until time of service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Union Hospital, c/o Pediatric Speech Therapy Fund, 1606 N. 7th St., Terre Haute, IN 47804. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
