MILDRED LEOTA DALTON

Mildred Leota Dalton, 86, of Florida, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004.

She came to St. Petersburg, Fla., in 1977 from Thousand Oaks, Calif., and in 1979, moved to Seminole, Fla., and later to Largo, Fla. She was a member of Suncoast Community Church in Largo.

She attended high school in Denver, Colo. She was a nurse and worked at the USCA Medical Center in Los Angeles. For 60 years, she was very active in Christian ministries that included Child Evangelism Fellowship, was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church in Thousand Oaks and was the Spiritual Life Chairman for two years with the Southwest Baptist Conference.

She and her husband traveled as Christian missionaries to 25 countries with Gospel Literature International. She also volunteered at Largo Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dean Dalton of Largo; two sons; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City with the Rev. John Like officiating. Schoppenhorst Funeral Home handled local arrangements.
