Florence Gretchen Fulk, 87, of Clay City, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, in Clay Health Center of Brazil.
Born Feb. 24, 1917, in Owen County, she was the daughter of Dennis and Vertie Nation Dayhuff.
She attended school in Owen County and later married John Willey Fulk, who preceded her in death in 1966.
She worked years ago housekeeping for families and, for many years, she assisted at the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home.
In 1989, she sold the family farm and moved to the Senkor Apartments in Clay City.
Memberships included the Coal City Church of Christ. She enjoyed reading and was well-known as an excellent cook.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda White, of Winter Haven, Fla.; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Bonnie Fulk of Spencer, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Steven White and wife, Cathy, of Chesterton, Ind., Jayma Rodino of Miller, Ind., Joyce White of Merrillville, Ind., Sheree Ashby and husband, Dan, Shelley Schapker and husband, Mitch, and Angela Decker and husband, Tracy, all Petersburg, Ind., and Robert Fulk Jr. of Spencer; five great-grandchildren, Amanda Maloney and husband, Rich, of New City, N.Y., Luke and Lindsey Decker of Petersburg, Elizabeth Adair of Thorntown, Ind., and Ross Ray Rodino of Miller, Ind.; a great-great-grandson, Christopher Maloney; two sisters, Hazel Jones of Indianapolis and Geneva Abrell of Freedom, Ind.; several nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Schoppenhorst Funeral Home with the Rev. Scot Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Tuesday.
