He was born Jan. 7, 1938, in Brazil, Ind. He was a supervisor at the diesel shop at Conrail for 28 years, retiring in 1991. Prior to this he was a police officer for the Plainfield Police Dept. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Rutheford) Moore, of Plainfield; a daughter, Dawn (Tom) Merritt, of Indianapolis; two sons, Douglas (LeShawn) Moore of Avon, and Randall (Debbie Dobbins) Moore, of Brazil; and three grandchildren, Courtney, Chase, and Shayne Moore.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Jack Moore and step-mother Ethel (Marklay) Moore.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. Friends may call from 5-7. Contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Humane Society.
