Patricia Joan Hoskins, 68, of Brazil died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at 2:20 a.m. in Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.

Born May 13, 1935, in Montgomery County, she was the daughter of David Allen and Elizabeth Lee Rusk Smith.

A 1953 graduate of Brazil High School, she later received her LPN license following graduation from Ivy Tech. She worked at Union Hospital for 10 years and Cloverleaf Healthcare for 15 years.

She was an active member of Annunciation Church. She enjoyed decorating the church, assisted in caring for the rectory and also provided care for Father Spicuzza prior to his death. She cooked at Annunciation School in the past and enjoyed being around the children. She was well known for her flower garden at her home and neighbors all enjoyed her colorful seasonal flags that adorned her porch.

She had been a member of the VFW Auxillary and the Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Survivors include her children, Chip and Donna Hoskins of Brazil, David and Linda Hoskins of Midland, Ind., Michelle and Roger Edelbrock of Midland, Texas, and Christina and Joe Gruener of Brazil; 11 grandchildren, Tiffany, Jacqueline, Matthew, Zech, Sarah and Abram Hoskins, Nicole, Benjamin, Annie and Adam Edelbrock and Josh Gruener; four sisters, Delores Smith and husband, Frank, of Brazil, Carolyn and C.R. Boyd of Brazil, Kay Bussing, also of Brazil and Ginger Lamb and husband, Charles, of Terre Haute; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Her parents and a brother, Richard Smith, preceded her in death.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Annunciation Church with Father Rob Hausladen officiating. Burial will follow in Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at French Funeral Home with Rosary at 7 p.m.
