Celia Maxine Hurst Bell, 87, of Brazil, died Friday, March 12, 2004, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She had been a resident of the Cloverleaf Healthcare Facility.

She was born Feb. 20, 1917, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Clyde E. and Celia Latta Hurst. She was a graduate of Wiley High School, the Class of 1935, and was in the National Honor Society.

On May 5, 1948, she married Kenneth W. Bell; he passed away on Feb. 2, 1980.

She was employed for many years in the office of S.H. Pawley Lumber Company in Terre Haute. She was a former resident of the Reelsville area, living in Ivanwald near Cataract Lake. She was a former member of the Cataract Yacht Club.

Following her wishes, private graveside services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery.
