Violet W. Rose, 89, of Brazil died at 5:12 a.m. Sunday, April 4, 2004, in Holly Hill Health Care following an extended illness.
Born in Clay County on Nov. 12, 1914, her parents were Edward and Anna Cooper Nevins.
She was a homemaker all her active life and was the last surviving charter member of the Way of the Cross Assembly of God; a diligent worker and Sunday School teacher until her health failed.
She was the widow of Millard J. Rose, who died on July 4, 1994. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Joe, Russell, Bill and Earl Nevins; and two sisters, Nellie Pope and Blanche Croy. A brother and sister, Frederick and Edna Nevins, died in infancy.
Survivors include a sister, Mary J. Fisher, of Brazil; many nieces, nephews and a large extended family.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lawson-Slack Funeral Home. Pastor Jimmy Dowers of her church will officiate and interment will be in Clearview Cemetery. Visistation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
