Eva Alice Lancaster, 86, of Brazil, formerly of Carbon, died at 11:43 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2004, in Holly Hill Healthcare, where she had been a patient for only nine days.
Born in Diamond on Jan. 21, 1918, her parents were Robert Gardner and Gladys Martin Gardner Hendrix. During her active adult life, she was always a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Brazil, where she was baptized on Jan. 12, 1961.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Lancaster, who died in March of 1977; a stepsister, Vivian Winters; and three cousins, including Louise Murphy Nairn.
Surviving are one stepsister, Joanne E. Hendrix Fritz, Brazil; one stepbrother, the Rev. Marshall W. Hendrix, Brazil; one cousin, Pat Hauer, Monticello; and good friends, Jim and Kim Hargis, Brazil.
Graveside services will be at 1:15 p.m. Monday in Calcutta Cemetery with the Rev. Hendrix officiating. Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Monday in Miller Memorial Chapel.
