FAYE TAGGART

Faye Taggart, 96, of Prairieton, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at 5:57 a.m. at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute.

She was born Nov. 7, 1907, in Cory, Ind., the daughter of Ross Tucker and Iva Gard Tucker.

She was a member of Prairieton United Methodist Church. She and her husband were longtime and very active members of the Prairieton Volunteer Department and its auxiliary.

She was a retired employee of the former Chesty Foods, also known as Fairmont Foods.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Taggart; both parents; and several sisters and brothers, Jacob and Ernest Tucker, Edith Dalgren, Sarah Jackson, Lucy Miller, Mellie Brown, Leora McCullough and Florence Tucker.

Survivors include a special nephew and his family, James Brown and wife Phyllis and their children; one sister, Nellie Roeschleine of Brazil; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Steuerwald of Cory and Maxine Taggart of Columbus, Ind.; and several other nieces and nephews.

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel in Terre Haute with the Rev. Duane Caperton officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at 11 a.m. Saturday. Prairieton Fire Department Auxiliary memorial will be at 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Van Cleve Cemetery, near Cory.

Donations can be made to either the Prairieton Fire Department Auxiliary or Prairieton United Methodist Church.
