Mary Hayman Schlegel, 92, of Plainfield and formerly of Clay City, died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2004, in the Brownsburg Health Center.
She was born Feb. 18, 1912, to Isaac and Alma Brough Hayman in Clay City.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Union Chapel Nazarene Church. She enjoyed her family, her church family and sewing.
Her parents and her husband, Orville Schlegel, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Robert Schlegel and wife Beryl of Carbon, Arthur Schlegel and wife Hope of Plainfield, Jerry D. Schlegel and wife Janey of Indianapolis and Phyllis Kincaid and husband Doyle of Avon; two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Hayman and Florence Schlegel, both of Clay City; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City, with calling from 11 a.m. until services. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
