Emma E. Smith, 87, of Prairie Creek, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, in her residence.

She was a homemaker and member of Church of Living Faith in Prairie Creek.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Smith; a brother, Ab Burger; and a sister, Thelma Orman.

Survivors include a son, James T. Smith, and wife, Janetta of Prairie Creek; a daughter, Jane E. Barr and husband Thomas, of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Benjamin of Georgia; three grandchildren, Jamey Smith, and wife Christina, of Brazil, Jennifer Headlee, and husband Chad, of Terre Haute and Abigail O'Dell and husband Brian of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren, Samantha and Justine Smith, of Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Schoppenhorst Funeral Home, with visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Burial will be in Beech Cemetery.
