Daniel Q. Auterson, 83, of Brazil, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Williamsburg Nursing Home in Crawfordsville of natural causes.

He was born Aug. 27, 1920, in Kentucky, the son of Tom Auterson and Jane Corbin Auterson.

He was a member of the Cement Masons Local Union No. 75 and was employed by Union Cement Construction.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Eller Yates, Pearl Cox and Annie Henson; and two children, Daniel Thomas Auterson and Marilyn Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Merle; four sons, Stephen J. Auterson and wife Teresa, Darrell Auterson and wife Kathy, Thomas Auterson and Paul Auterson; five daughters, Danielle Purcell, Pamela Baysinger, Cheryl Auterson, Janet Gorman and Carolyn Hill; one brother, Bill Auterson and wife Betty; several nieces and nephews; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be today at 1 p.m. at Mattox-Ryan Funeral Home with Pastor Jacob Raubuch officiating. Calling hours will be today from noon until time of service. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
