Charlotte A. Thompson, 98, of Rosedale, Ind., died at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2004, in Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hopsital, Terre Haute.
She was a retired obstetrics nurse at Clay County Hospital with 35 years of service. She also served as a private duty, office and home delivery nurse.
Born March 3, 1905, in Brazil, she was the daughter of Otis Shattuck and Elizabeth Kennedy Anderson.
On June 16, 1929, she married Alva Otis Thompson in Brazil; he preceded her in death on May 18, 1981.
A 1922 graduate of Brazil High School, she attended Indiana Normal School and was a 1927 graduate of Union Hospital School of Nursing.
Memberships included the Bridgeton United Methodist Church, Women's Society of Christian Service, Raccoon Township Home Demonstration Club, Union Hospital Alumni and she was a former member of the Rosedale Civic Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Peffley of Terre Haute; two brothers, William T. Anderson of Bedford, Ind., and O.K. Anderson of Vincennes, Ind.; a sister, Margaret Sorrell of Indianapolis; a grandson, Dallas (Donna) Peffley of Covington, Ind.; three great-grandchildren, April and husband, James Clarkston of Brazil, Sarah and husband, Matt Keller of Covington and Roberty Peffley of Covington; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Delaine Peffley.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Bridgeton United Methodist Church with Pastor Allen Relford officiating. Burial will be in Clear Run Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home in Rosedale and an hour before services on Wednesday at the church.
