Thelma Esther Ewen, 85, of Brazil, formerly of Paris, Tenn., died May 1, 2004, at her residence. She was born June 19, 1918, in Tippecanoe, Ind., the daughter of Albert and Bessie Gaskill McGowen.

She was married to Charles Knight who preceded her in death. They resided in Rochester, Ind. for 28 years. She relocated to the Paris, Tenn., area where she lived for over 30 years. She was married to Lonnie Ewen. He also preceded her in death.

She worked at the Shoe Factory in Paris. She also attended the Church of God.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Allen Grover of Terre Haute and Cindy and Carroll Price of Indian Mounds, Tenn.; one son, Charles Stephen Knight, of Kewanna, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Jerry Knight, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Knight; a brother, Harold McGowen and a great-great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Calcutta Cemetery. French Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
