Myron D. Nicoson, 75, of Brazil, died Saturday, May 8, 2004, at 9:48 a.m. in the emergency room of St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
Born April 29, 1929, in Bowling Green, Ind., he was the son of Wayne Sandford Nicoson and Iona Youngblood Nicoson.
He graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1947.
He married Charlotte Stoelting on June 30, 1950.
As a young man he worked for Arketex and then Hedges Ford in Brazil. He later worked as the mechanical supervisor for Peabody Coal at the Universal Mine for more than 20 years.
Memberships included Brazil Nazarene Church.
He enjoyed yard work, fixing things at home and he was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Kent Ewing of Brazil; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay and Deniela Nicoson of Brazil and Kevin and Ann Nicoson of Lafayette; nine grandchildren, Ellis and Nick Gebert, Betsy, Emma and Rachel Nicoson and Sara, Collin, Jacob and Alexander Nicoson; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Norma Nicosin of Brazil and Warren "Nick" Nicoson and his wife, Glenna, of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Cleota and Bill Wright of Kansas City, Mo.; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd Nicoson, and a sister, Arola Easter.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in First Church of the Nazarene in Brazil with Pastors Al Dicer and Lyle Monnett officiating. Burial will follow in Clearview Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., today, in French Funeral Home and again, Tuesday, one hour prior to services at the church.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Nazarene Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
