Don W. Phillips, 79, of Greencastle, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Putnam County Hospital.
He was born March 16, 1925, in Hadley, Ind., the son of Eber Phillips and Flora Purcell. He married Alberta Frazier on May 24, 1969; she survives.
He was a set-up man at P.R. Mallory Capacitor, retiring after over 25 years in 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Penny Gordon and husband Jack of Lewis, Ind., and Vicki Johnson and husband Ron of Fowler, Ind.; six sons, John Phillips of Greencastle, David Phillips and wife Connie of Martinsville, Ind., Eric Phillips and wife Amy of Bloomington, Ind., Mark Phillips and wife Carrie of Dana, Ind., Rich Phillips and wife Kim of Cloverland, Ind., and Tim Phillips and wife LeeAnn of Poland, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Chandler-Hays Funeral Home, Greencastle, with the Rev. Murry Clugston officiating. Burial will follow at Amo Cemetery in Amo, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
