Joseph H. "Hootie" Reese, 80, of Brazil, passed away at home on Friday, May 21, 2004.
Born Oct. 5, 1923, in Brazil, he served with the CCC for four years prior to serving with the Army Airborne in World War II.
He worked for Logan Clay Co., retiring in 1982, and worked for Skelton Tree Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wanda, in 1991; and a brother, Walter Reese.
Survivors include four daughters, Sandy, and her husband, Steve Brattain, Judy and her husband, Bill Mattox, Lillie and her husband, David Cooprider and Debbie Keltz, all of Brazil; eight grandchildren, Beth McLin, Lida Brattain, Don and wife, Carrie, Brattain, Sally and husband, Chad Zechmann, Amy Shoup, Glen Keltz, Tony Keltz and John Cooprider; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Katie Jones, of Alaska and a brother, John Reese, of Virginia.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute, with burial in Putnamville Cemetery, Putnamville, Ind. VFW Post 1550 will conduct military graveside services.
Visitation will be 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
