Robert W. Wells, 75, of Brazil died Friday, May 21, 2004, at 8:36 p.m. in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
He had been a resident of Southwood Healthcare Facility in Terre Haute for several years due to his battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born Aug. 24, 1928, in Greencastle he was the son of Clarence Roscoe and Lena Josephine Branson Wells. He served in the Army and was later a truck driver, both over the road and locally. He worked for the Brazil City Coal Yard and Romas Trucking.
He enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Jane McVey Wells; five daughters and two sons, Cindy Grigsby, Cathy Winn, Connie Gregg, Cristy Wells and Candy Cradick and her husband, Jerry, Rick Wells and Randy Wells and his wife, Penny, all of Brazil; nine grandchildren, Whitley Winn, Isaac Winn, Misty Fields, Chastity Johnson, Charity Houston, Steven Gregg and wife, Rebekah, Brandon Wells, Michael Wells and Samantha Wells; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clifford Leon Wells.
At his request, cremation will take place. Burial of his ashes will be on June 5 at 1 p.m. in Bee Ridge Cemetery. Officiating will be Anthony Workmon.
