He graduated from Brazil High School. As a young man, he worked at Arketex and then Anaconda. He retired from Pillsbury in 1986. He was the maintenance supervisor there. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and a member of the Brazil Kingdom Hall for over 57 years.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Deborah and Robert Officer of Danville, Ind.; one granddaughter, Kimberly Kirby; one grandson, Kevin Angleton; one daughter-in-law, Linda Angleton; one sister-in-law, Pat VenDeventer; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one grandson, Joseph Officer and a stepbrother, Buster Brown.
Services will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel with Rick Herron speaking. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to services.
