Thomas "Tom" O'Dell, 67, of Carbon, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 17, 2004.

He was born Sept. 5, 1936, in Carbon, the son of Thurman and Ruby Carlin O'Dell.

In his lifetime, he worked at Adams Sawmill and Ringo Sawmill; for the Clay County Highway Department; and last, for Dr. Dennany, doing maintenance and lawn work. He enjoyed fishing and boating.

He is survived by his brother, Charles O'Dell, also of Carbon; four sisters, Norma Dake, Clara Hoffman and Esther Baysinger, all of Brazil, and Kathryn Mandrell of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Lester O'Dell, Robert O'Dell, Ralph O'Dell and Frank O'Dell.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at French Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Pippen officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
