Paul F. Begeman, 81, of Terre Haute, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, in his home.
Born Jan. 8, 1923, in Freelandville, Ind., he was the son of Fred and Olga Strait Begeman.
He was a 1941 graduate of Freelandville High School, a 1948 graduate of Purdue University and later completed his Masters degree.
He served in the U.S. Army Infantry as a staff sergeant in the European Theater during World War II and received the Distinguished Service Medal.
Mr. Begeman was a member of Mayflower United Church of Christ in Naples, Fla., and a past member of the Brazil Rotary Club.
He taught Vocational Agriculture at Freelandville High School and was a County Agriculture Agent for 24 years in Tippecanoe, Clay and Vigo counties, retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Louretta Barton Begeman; a son, John Paul Begeman, of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Alice Romas and husband, Jim, of Brazil; a brother, Conrad Begeman, of Freelandville; and three grandsons, Chris Romas of Indianapolis, and Matt and Brandon Romas of Brazil.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in French Funeral Home with visitation 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Terre Haute.
