Connie Sue Harris, 61, of Cory died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at 5:05 p.m. in the emergency room of St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
She was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Elbert and Martha Rojahn Johnson. She graduated from Garfield High School. She later graduated from beauty school in Indianapolis.
She married Girthie Harris on July 15, 1962. He survives.
She worked for some time as a beautician for Meadows Center. She was also a nursing assistant in the Vigo County School Corporation, mainly at Terre Haute South High School, retiring after 18 years. She enjoyed drawing, calligraphy, and flower gardening.
She is survived by her husband; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn and Kelly Harris, of Cory, and Scott and Mandy Harris, of Brownsburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Richard Lorenze, of Center Point; and five grandchildren, David Harris, Ben Harris, Robin Harris, Vivianne Harris, and Cody Moon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Donald Johnson.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City. Rev. Rick Parsons will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. and again Tuesday prior to services. At her request, cremation will take place, with burial of ashes to take place at a later date.
The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Hospice of the Wabash Valley. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
