David Jordan, 91, of Greencastle, died at his residence Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004.

Born July 15, 1913, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Chris and Lulu Lucinda Records Jordan.

David was a 1931 graduate of Whiteland High School. On June 18, 1939, he married Clara Louise Bartley in Whiteland Methodist Church. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 2001.

He was a farmer, retiring in 1988.

Survivors inlude a son, Richard C. Jordan, of Anchorage, Alaska; four daughters, Rachel L. Jenkins and husband, Fred, of Greentown, Ind., Mary L. Berry and husband, Milton, of Greencastle, Martha A. Turner and husband, Bob, of Cory and Nedra K. Jordan of Pleasant Ridge, Mich.; 11 grandchildren, Mark Jenkins, Sarah Cotton, Heather Jenkins, Darren Berry, Travis Berry, Lance Jordan, Michael Jordan, Amanda Jordan, Sharon Nicoson, Connie Britton and Byron Gerlach; five great-grandchildren, Eric Altman, Abby Altman, Meridian Jordan, Clarissa Jordan and Grant Nicson; two step-great-grandchildren, Kim Reecer and Courtney Reecer; and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two infant daughters; and a daughter-in-law, Marsha Jordan.

At his request, there will be no visitation and cremation will take place with burial at a later date. French Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
