Louise York, 82, of Cloverdale, Ind., formerly of Greencastle, Ind., died Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, in Cloverdale Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center, Cloverdale.
Born Nov. 26, 1921, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Clyde Addison Shaner and Lula Jamina (Clark) Shaner.
She married Charles G. "Bill" York on Aug. 8, 1943. He died Feb. 7, 1986.
She had been a cook at DePauw University and was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, Greencastle.
Survivors include daughters Judith E. Cook and husband, R. Daniel Sr., of Reelsville, Patricia Stitzle and husband, Henry A. Sr., of Reelsville and Kay Fislar and husband, Jerry, of Reelsville; sons Jack York and wife, Tanie, of Greencastle and Chuck York of Greencastle; a brother, John Shaner, of Greencastle; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, three brothers, two granddaughters and a great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boone-Hutcheson Cemetery with Pastor Wes McClure officiating.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday in Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale.
