Edna Mae Bowman, 78, Center Point, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Born Jan. 19, 1926, in Freedom, Ind., she was the daughter of David Jasper Shunk and Ethel Jividen Shunk.
She married Charles E. Bowman April 9, 1943, in Terre Haute, Ind. She was a loving mother and housewife. She attended the Ashboro United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died Aug. 7, 1995; one daughter, Diana Lou Bowman; one brother, Carl Hayes; three sisters, Marie Vest, Clara Matthews and Martha Hutcherson and one son-in-law, Myron L. Stevenson.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith A. Stevenson of Center Point; two sons, Gary W. Bowman and his wife Margaret of Brazil and Charles E. (Chuck) Bowman Jr. of Center Point; 10 grandchildren, Tonya Jones and husband Dick, Sonya Sampson and husband Ted, Myron Stevenson Jr., Byron Stevenson and wife Gretchen, Shelley Mace and husband Matt, David, Anna and Chris Bowman, Lindsey Boring and husband Brad, and J.C. Bowman. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, Brittany, Braeden, Brylan Jones, Chelsey, Jason, Megan Sampson, Allison, Shaya, Ashton, Austin Stevenson and Van Cleve Mace and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Myron James officiating. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery-Brown Section.
Should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department or the Ashboro & Center Point United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
