William F. Brown, 88, of Brazil died Oct. 12, 2004, at 3 a.m. in Holly Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born April 21, 1916, he was the son of Otis and Elizabeth Smith Brown. He married Anna Shephard.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert; his parents; four brothers, Luther, Carl, Lee and Joe Brown; two sisters, Audrey Dierdorff and Laura Brown; and a stepson, Theodore Gilbert.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Kathryn and Roland Brakensick of Omega, Ind., Ruth and Terry Walker of Brazil and Edith Knight of Brazil; a stepdaughter, Mary and Leonard Lucas, of Clay City; two stepsons, Guy Gilbert of Carbon and Netty Gilbert of Indianapolis; a brother, John and Elizabeth Brown of Greencastle; two sisters, Erma and Chuck Hiatt of Indianapolis, and Maude Riley of Mansfield; and a large extended family.

At his request, cremation will take place. French Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.
