Helton England, 79, of Brazil, died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital.
Born July 25, 1925, in Moulton, Ala., he was the son of Walter W. and Bertha Higgins England who preceded him.
He married Gracie M. Jones on April 10, 1955. His occupation was a floor mechanic specializing in carpet and tile.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Helton England; two brothers, James C. England and Travis M. England; five sisters, Betty J. Edmondson, Lavera Nichols, Vern Miller, Tressie England and Jewel England and three grandchildren, Brittany and Brooke England-Aleman and Jasmine Lynn Guyer.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Donna and husband Billy Ward of Carbon, Sandy Maynard and her companion Robin Maynard, Fillmore and Cathy England of Brazil; three sons, Brad and wife Kathy Jones, Phoenix, Ariz.,, Mike and wife Janetta England, Brazil and Tim England of Mobile, Ala.; a brother, Freeman and wife Dorcas England of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; three sisters, Wilma Daughtery of Stickney, Ill, Nell and Fred Sanders and Polly and Dickey Howard both of Mobile Ala.; 12 grandchildren, Samatha Ward, Bradley Ward,Virginia Jones, Christy Luithe, Shawna Cubel, Sande Cubel-Beam, Kandra England-Walsh, Adam Maynard, Jacob Maynard, Billy England Jr., Angel England and April England; 11 great-grandchildren, Benton Ward, Dawn Marie Keyt, John Beam IV, Hayley Beam, Curtis England, Lindsey England, Katie Elrod, Virgil Elrod, Krystal Brown, Cody Brown and Charlie England.
Family visitation will be 5-6 p.m. Thursday with public visitation from 6-8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, by Brother Lyle Monnett at the funeral home. At his request, cremation will follow.
