Mabel Irene Ladd Prescott, 84, of Mooresville, Ind., died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.

Born April 29, 1920, in Plainfield, Ind., she was the daughter of John Royal and Zella Berger Ladd, who are deceased. She was the widow of Oliver R. Prescott Sr., whom she married Sept. 3, 1938, and who died July 23, 1977.

For 25 years she co-owned with her husband and operated Prescott Body Shop in Mooresville.

She was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award from Kendrick Memorial Hospital where she logged more than 1,000 hours of volunteer time.

Mrs. Prescott was a member of Mooresville First Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, Oliver Richard Prescott Jr., and wife, Ann, of Mooresville; two daughters, Mary M. Allender of Brazil and Jennifer S. Clark of Mooresville; a son-in-law, Clem LeMay, of Brazil; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with the Rev. Kelly Whitehurst officiating.
