Richard L. Ward, 62, of Brazil died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, at 3 a.m. in his residence following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 2, 1942, in Brazil, he was the son of LaVearl and Ruth Girton Ward. He attended Brazil High School and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He served in the military for four years.
On Dec. 31, 1968, he married Barbara Tabor Ward; she survives.
He worked at Columbia Records in Terre Haute for 10 years and then worked for BICC Cables Corp. in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Rock Run Church.
He enjoyed driving his 1954 Chevy Townsman; building and flying remote-controlled airplanes, reading his Bible and spending time with his family.
His mother, Ruth E. Ward, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Renee McLaury; a son, Bryan Ward and wife, Fee; two granddaughters, Danica and Megan Michelle Neier; his father; a brother, Max Ward, and his wife, Jackie; several nieces and nephews, all of Brazil.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in French Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Roeschlein officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, 4-8 p.m., and Thursday prior to services.
