Thomas Haas, 85, of Cataract, Ind., died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004, in Union Hospital, Terre Haute.
Born Jan. 15, 1919, in Hoopeston, Ill., he was the son of Thomas H. Haas and Myrtle Dora (Coon) Haas.
He was a member of the Colt Collectors Association.
He was a gunsmith and owned Guns Unlimited at Cataract.
During World War II, he served in the Navy.
Survivors include seven daughters, Lisette Hopkins of Brazil, Joelene Knight of Florida, Dauwn LoPresti of California, Lorena Mora Haas of Mexico, Annette Fraizer of Texas, Janie Haas of Texas and Kennah Haas of California; two sons, Chance Haas and Phillip Haas, both of Cataract, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 2, 1975, and his mother on Dec. 20, 1979.
Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Whitaker Funeral Home, Cloverdale, with graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday at Flora Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston, Ill.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
